About Team Block
Block Racing was created in 1991 as a BMX company by Rich Bartlett. Block Alternatives was started the following year as a sportswear company which was primarily focused on BMX soft goods.  The Block Bike Shop was opened in 2003 first as a BMX team clubhouse which has turned into a full scale family bike shop. At Block we eat, breathe and live bicycles. We are passion driven and competitive. We want to share our experiences with you and invite you into our world!

We have built the flyer for the 2O'Clock Scramble. The race/ride will take place on Sunday November 15th. The event will feed the needy for Thanksgiving through Grace Resources using your donation of $5 or $5 worth of canned goods. This event will also be a Memorial for Rod Armas and the $20 entry fee donation will go into the Christian Armas College Fund. Every cent of your $25 total donation goes to something totally positive! We will have a post race pot luck BBQ at 2:00pm so be sure to bring food or drink for 1-2 people and invite friends and family!
This race/ride is designed for EVERYONE who rides a bike. The distance  you ride is entirely up to you. Knowing the streets of the Antelope Valley will be a huge benefit but not necessary. You will need to bring a bike, helmet, water, a snack for during the ride, & a tool kit and tube incase of unexpected mechanical or flat. If you do not bring a tube and tool kit then you will need a cell phone and someone you can count on to pick you up. Being a responsible cyclist is important!

Wednesday night was the most fun ever! Other than 3 different flats everything else was perfect. Super light breeze, perfect temperature and a huge group of 84 riders. We decided to hit the Fairgrounds as it was opening the following morning. Sure enough the gates were open for vendors to set up and we got to do a lap inside! Then it was off to the Harley shop for our Hog Wild Miss and Out Crit, which Shilo won women's (again) and Mikie Dougs won men's!

72 riders left the park - 76 returned. This past week was perfect weather for a roll through the eastside neighborhoods. A drag race down Yucca Ave put Shilo back in the women's jersey and Bryce got his first jersey by winning the men's race. very few photos this week due to dead camera batteries. Everyone keeps bringing their friends out with them and the ride keeps getting better!!!

This past Wednesday Night was by far our best ride yet. 72 riders, a King of the Mountains Challenge, a loop at the Mall, a men's and women's crit race, 25 miles and two and a half hours of ride time all put into a star studded ride. Supercross legend Kyle Lewis, Gary Laurent (who is doing the Hoffman Shows at Magic Mountain) and even riders from the Wolfpack Hustle in LA are hearing about the ride and making the journey. With as big as the group has become we have depended on Drew, Omar and Manny  to "cork" intersections and get our massive group to pass through safely. It looks like we are just weeks away from hitting 100 riders. Been an amazing summer so far. Next week you can look forward to a Neighborhood Ride. Congrats to the jersey winners Donna Sandoval and John Barbachano on their crit domination and Ivan on the KOM !

CYCOLOGY - The Lancaster Ride
15 weeks we have been doing this ride now! Incredible how many people join us each week. Some people we haven't seen in years, others we ride with daily. The two things that we all have in common is the bike and friends. A total of 60 riders rolled out of Lancaster City Park for a tour of the westside this past Wednesday night. This week we hit neighborhoods, open roads and raced down Lancaster Blvd. Shilo and Casey reclaimed the jerseys again this week with dominating sprints. Sigma Sport again provided the winners with product. Every week we include a different type of competitive event and the winner wears the coveted CYCOLOGY Jersey the entire following week. If you have a bike, and have the ability to pedal around town for two hours on Wednesday night, come out and join us. All of the ride info is posted on the Local Rides link. The ride is totally social and cruises around a 12mph pace. We hit parts of town you never even knew existed every week!
