The $20 entry fee will go entirely into the Christian Armas College Fund.
The $5 canned goods donation will entirely go to Grace Resources.
All of the tee shirts, prizes, awards and raffles will be donated by the Block Shop and contributing sponsors such as Specialized, Knog, Sigma, Eastern, & Chrome.
This event is set up entirely as a benefit for people less fortunate than ourselves.

The format to this ride/race is quite unique. We will have 3 different start times but only one finish time. This will bring us all together at the end to enjoy the afternoon and pot luck with all of our friends and family.

Start time #1 is 9:00am SHARP and will allow up to 5 hours of ride time.
Start time #2 is 11:00am SHARP and will allow up to 3 hours of ride time.
Start time #3 is 12:30pm SHARP and will allow up to 1 1/2 hours of ride time.

Start time 9:00AM will have 3 classes:  MEN - WOMEN - FIXED GEAR
Start time 11:00AM will have 6 classes:  MEN - WOMEN - FIXED GEAR - MTB - TANDEM - RECUMBENT
Start time 12:30PM will have 4 classes:  MEN - WOMEN - HYBRID - BMX

The finish time will be 1:59:59 by our clock which will be displayed at the start. You MUST be in BEFORE 2:00pm to get scored - NO EXCEPTIONS! This means you have to manage your time well and allot time for unforeseen events such as mechanicals, flat tires, traffic signals etc. You can finish as early as you want, it just has to be earlier than 1:59:59 to be scored.
You will want to arrive at least one hour earlier than your start time to sign up, go through inspection and get maps. Maps will be handed out exactly 30 minutes before your start time. You will want to utilize the full time to plot your course before the race starts. Each of the 3 start times have a separate map and different check points.

About the race. We will set up check points all over town and surrounding areas. You will receive a map with more check points then you can hit in the allotted time. You will need to decide which checkpoints you would like to hit and map out a route to make it as efficient as possible. Each check point will have a designated value. When you arrive at the checkpoint you will fill in the information on the provided check card and proceed to the next. The winner will be the rider that receives the highest point total for all check points hit and arrives to the finish before 2:00:00pm. This means, by strategy, the winning rider does not necessarily have to covered the most miles, or be first (or last) to the finish. It means you have to map your route efficiently.

With this format EVERYONE who rides has a class to suit there cycling experience. You can ride as hard or easy as you like. If you are competitive you can ride it as a race. If you are a recreational rider then you can ride and just enjoy the event. You must start in your desired group to get scored, but you can return anytime before the 2:00pm cutoff. This means if you only want to hit one checkpoint or only ride one mile that is your option. We expect the overall winner of the 5 hour class will put in nearly 100 miles. We expect the overall winner of the 3 hour class will put in nearly 60 miles. We expect the overall winner of the 1 1/2 hour class will put in nearly 25 miles. These are only estimates but it gives you an idea of what winning and finishing times and miles will be.

We will have awards for the top 3 riders in each class along with a huge prize raffle. This along with your ride experience & tee shirt makes your $25 donation a great value.

You must obey ALL traffic laws! Helmets are mandatory! No helmet - no race - no exceptions! Things you will need to complete this event: bike, helmet, water, snacks for during the ride, pockets or bag (to carry the map, card and pen), tube, patch kit and multi tool. If you do not bring a tube and tool kit then you will need a cell phone and someone you can count on to pick you up. Being a responsible cyclist is important! All riders under 18 will need a parent at signups.

From noon until 4:00pm we will have entertainment, games and a potluck so be sure to invite friends and family to come out and spend the day in the park. We ask that everyone who comes out brings food and or drink for at least 1-2 people. This will allow us to all share and have an amazing feast!

Continue to check back to see more details as we approach the event!
