The BIGGEST LOSER contest started in 2010 to create some
accountability for riding and getting into shape. Running in
conjunction with our Tour de France
Challenge it is a fun way to
compete while shedding weight. Last years winners where Laramie
Fassbender in the woman's category and Dale Lister in the men's.
Both were awarded a new cycling kit with custom jersey, valued over
$500.00 each. The new kit was made to order in their new size.
The 2010 version lasted three months and we have decided to drop it
down to two months for 2011 to stay focused and not burn out. The
idea is for it to be fun and rewarding not a suffer-fest.
The contest rules are simple. Come to Block Bikes, weigh in, and
fill out an official Biggest Loser form. The form has the official
starting weight when you sign in and spots to check progress though
out the competition. Your weights will remain confidential and will
not be disclosed without permission. The contest is based on
percentage of weight lost. This evens the playing field and everyone
can be competitive.
Now for the disclaimer... Block Bikes is documenting the progress of
your weight loss. We are not doctors or intuitionalists. We are not
recommending any diets or weight loss programs. We are simply giving
you the opportunity to track your weight during a two month period
and promoting bicycle riding as a healthy activity. You will
participate in the Biggest Loser Contest at your own risk. You are
100% responsible for your own health and take responsibility for
your own actions.
The awards will be presented as a gift certificate on August 31st
at CYCOLOGY- The
Lancaster Ride at 7:30pm. The awarded kit will consist of a
custom Block Bikes BIGGEST LOSER 2011 jersey and Specialized riding
shorts, socks, gloves and helmet. The value of the winners prize in
each the men and the women is over $500.00.
